Cleft Lip and Palate

When parents learn that their child has a cleft lip and/or palate, it can provoke a lot of anxiety and worry. There can be concerns about feeding, speech development, and teasing at school. The thing to remember is that children with cleft lip and palate have a very treatable condition and can live very normal lives. But there is no doubt a handful of surgeries will take place during their childhood.

I offer the full scope of cleft surgeries including primary lip repair, primary palate repair, speech surgery, alveolar cleft bone grafting, cleft lip revision, cleft orthognathic jaw surgery (including distraction), cleft rhinoplasty, and placement of dental implants.

One of the most rewarding parts of being a cleft surgeon is being able to be part of that child’s life from birth through adulthood. Ultimately, my goal is to help every child realize his or her full potential.
