Who I Am

I am passionate about providing the best possible treatment for each and every patient I have the privilege of caring for.

I’m originally from Kansas. I spent a large portion of my early childhood in a rural setting down a dirt road. I loved being outside for endless hours, exploring the woods and fields with my cousins.

I liked the idea of staying close to home for undergrad and decided to attend The University of Kansas. I jumped at an opportunity to study abroad for a semester in Costa Rica (I highly recommend studying abroad if you have the chance). Afterwards, I moved to Kansas City and attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Next, I moved to Fort Worth, TX, where I completed a one-year internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery at John Peter Smith Hospital. Following that, I moved to Ann Arbor, MI, and attended the University of Michigan Medical School and completed a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery. In residency I really enjoyed working with and caring for kids and I became interested in cleft and craniofacial surgery. So after completing residency I moved back to Texas, but this time to El Paso, where I completed a surgical fellowship focused on cleft lip and palate and craniofacial surgery.

My surgical practice is focused on the treatment of cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, craniofacial differences, jaw surgery, TMJ surgery, and pediatric and adult oral and maxillofacial surgery.

I currently live and practice in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.
